WriteKids is pleased to announce the winners of our fourth international writing contest! Over 350 stories were submitted by Nepali secondary level students. Each winner will receive a prize and WriteKids is thrilled to make donations to St. Xavier’s School in Jawalakhel and Godavari, Nepal.
The following was the prompt for 2023 contest: You have been asked to create an app. You can invent a brand new app or add new features to an existing app. What will you name it? What does your app hope to accomplish? Who will your target audience be? How ill it benefit users? How will it work?
The winning entries were based upon a combination of the following factors:
- Creativity of writing (i.e. did the story/essay simply list the features of the imagined app; or did the story/essay describe the features in imaginative narrative detail)
- Creativity of app itself (i.e. was the functionality of the app quite similar to other currents apps; or was the functionality of the app novel)
- Quality of writing (i.e. use of english; grammar)
The panel of judges greatly enjoyed reading every story/essay. We thank the students for their for their time, skill and fine efforts and hope they will be inspired to continue creating, dreaming and writing! Following are the winners and their stories. Congratulations!
