The Lucky Field Trip of Class 13
by Maya
HI! My name is Maya and this is my best friend Lynn. Usually, people call me “M” and call Lynn “L”. People say we look alike but I don’t think so. We both have dark hair and dark eyes but Lynn is really thin and I’m kind of, okay, pretty chubby. I’m one of those kinds that like to do new things. Lynn is more of a quiet kind. But we were best friends from the day we were born! I guess that’s why we go to the same school “Krazy Best Friends Skool” And believe me, it’s not called Krazy for nothing.
One day, Lynn and I were walking to school as normal. Suddenly, Mr.Roxy, our teacher, appeared outta nowhere. “Hey guys. No time to explain. I can’t teach today so can you guys take over. This envelope explains everything.” And with that, he disappeared again. “Well, that was weird. Come on Maya. Let’s open the envelope!” Lynn said and we both tore open the envelope. Inside it was a single folded note. “Dear Lynn and Maya “I read.” I am very sad to say but I have very foolishly lost my enchanted necklace. Inside it, is a very embarrassing picture of me from when I was little. I really need your help to find my necklace. Also, I can’t be at school today. I would like you to Plan and organize a field trip the class would never forget. Just use the magic mirror to go. You know how it works right? My necklace will turn up anywhere you want it to be. Just say the magic words, ‘Locket of R.R.R I want you to be in ______ for ______. . ‘I really don’t want other people to know about it. Please hurry.
Signed, Rooepedtro Riloepues Roxy. Ps. Please be on the look out of my necklace please.” Lynn and I gave each other a nod “Allrightie! Let’s do it!” I shouted.
Soon, we were in class. I put all my stuff in my cubby and then went to the front of the room. I looked at Lynn. “Where should we go?” I asked her. But Lynn looked at me with a funny expression on her face. “You know what, I already thought about that. I did a bit of researching and decided that Candy land would be a great place.” I looked at her. And then, I agreed. Soon, I stood up and cleared my throat. Lots of murmurs went around the room. I put up my arm and did a peace sign which meant, be quiet. Then, I spoke. I explained the situation and what we were going to do. In the end, the murmurs of worries changed into laughter of joy. Everyone wanted to find out what the picture was. I looked at the clock. “Okay everyone. You all know how to use the portal right?” I looked around the room. When everyone nodded their heads, I told everyone to line up single file and enter the portal. Lynn led the way, the others close behind. I went last making sure we didn’t leave anything behind. Then, I stepped into the portal. The portal spun me around and around. When I landed, I felt all queasy.
”I still don’t like the portal.” Lynn told me looking sick. All around us were great murmurs of excited children. “Okay Maya, ready to say the magic words?” I nodded. Then, we linked hands and said, “Locket of R.R.R.
I want you to be in candy land for Lynn and Maya!” Then, we gave them each a plastic bag. “You see everyone, we have come to Candy Land to find an locket with the initials, R.R.R. We must all stick together and find the locket Within 2 hours. Today, we must all be a team and help find the picture!” We all cheered. Soon, we paired everyone up and then gave each pair a watch and a walkie talkie. “Make sure to be back here before 12o’clock or we will have to stay in candy land forever.” I warned them. Then, giving them each a map, we all went off in different locations. Lynn and I searched and searched but found no locket. Just then, Lynn had a great idea. “Maya, what was Mr.Roxy’s favorite candy again?’ she asked. “Lynn, it’s not the time for riddles right now! OH!” Suddenly, my face lit up. I understood what she was talking about. Then, I took out my walkie and told the others, “Attention all classmates, Attention all classmates. Please all go to the marshmallow fluff section right away!”
Soon, all 20 kids met up in the marshmallow fluff section. Then, Justin started complaining about how less candy he had managed to eat. Another girl, Kailie was showing of her locket she had found while looking. Lynn answered Jeremy’s complaints with an annoyed look. Then, I did the peace sign. “Okay everyone. Has anyone found the locket yet?” When nobody said yes, I spoke again.” Well, we have now found a new lead. The locket is probably in the marshmallow fluffs. So if you are not happy with not being able to eat much, you can eat as much as you want to here now. But remember, you have to also be on the lookout for the locket.” Then, We all started searching(And eating) For the locket. I looked at my watch. Only ten minutes left. “Hurry everyone, we don’t have much time!” Soon, the five minutes were up. “Oh no! We still don’t have the locket! what should we do! We’ll never find out what the picture looked like. Also, Mr. Roxy would kill us!” I cried. But there was only one minute left. I quickly pushed everyone into the portal and soon, we were back in our classroom.
Suddenly, Kailie’s friend, Lindsay screamed!” The locket. Kailie has the locket!” What! I looked at Lindsay. “Are you sure?” Lindsay pointed at the words carved into it. It read, R.R.R. I gasped. “Hurray! We found it” I Shouted.
Then, I asked if anyone wanted to deliver the locket to Mr.Roxy with Lynn and I. As my I swept across the room, I took one quick look at Justin Fletcher(The person that holds the record of eating the most food in the class,) and goggled. His cheeks were puffed up so much that anyone would think he was sick. His pockets were crammed full of bulging sweets. Even his candy bag looked like it was about to burst. Even more, he was chewing furiously on a piece of jaw breakers. “ ‘hat on ‘arth are ‘ou ‘oing !” Asked Kaitlyn from France “well,” he said and ate another marshmallow puff,” Since we don’t know when we are going to go back to Candy Land,” He said and stuffed a wad of cotton candy into his mouth,” I thought I should eat some right now.” he said and stuffed some more marshmallows into his mouth. Then, completely changing the subject, I opened the locket and showed everyone the picture. It was hilarious!
After a lot of laughing, I quickly took the locket from Kaillie and then With Lynn at my heels, we soon delivered the locket to Mr. Roxy who was in his Attic searching for something.
The next week, Mr. Roxy was all better again. “Don’t we at least get an award?” I grumbled. Then, as if he could hear me, Mr. Roxy waved and called.” ML! Come here for a second please!” He said. And when we were alone, he looked at as and grinned. “Thank you very much guys! I couldn’t have stayed alive if it wasn’t for you! Here is a special award!” He said and gave us both a year’s pass of Candy land. ”Ha! Justin would be so jealous!” I said to Lynn. It was the greatest adventure of my life.
The Best Field Trip Ever
by Michael
One day I was walking to school, and when I got to the school’s parking lot, I saw a bus. I felt something unusual about that bus. I entered the school and went to my class. I opened the door to my classroom and then I saw everyone in my class including my teacher staring at me with bright eyes and wide smiles. Then my teacher explained we were going on a field trip and I was the driver. Then we lined up and walked to the bus. I sat in the driver’s seat. Now, I know that you’re not supposed to drive unless you have a driver’s license. I quickly scanned the area and I found a card with my name, my picture, and some special information about me. I also saw the bus manual. I read the bus manual. There was something weird on page nineteen. It said the left pedal is the power pedal and the right pedal is the speed pedal. Without further reading I started the bus. Suddenly a laptop appeared on my lap. The laptop said “What is your destination?” I typed in: the Moon. Then a road appeared and I guess it was leading to the Moon. Then I pushed the pedals and we were off to the Moon. It took me a moment to realize that we were flying not driving. It didn’t take us long to get to the Moon. We saw a lot of crators. We even saw a Moon man with his Moon dog! It was exciting. Then we went back to my school, then suddenly my laptop beeped. I looked at it and it said “You have nine more destinations to go.” I chose the destinations very carefully. Destination 1.The North Pole 2.Pluto 3.Niagara Falls 4. Eiffel Tower 5.The museum of everything 6.Spaghetti jungle 7.Candy town 8.The magic island 9.The chocolate rivers. For the next few hours, we had the time of our life. When we finished our last destination, we went back to our school. I noticed a watch dangling from the steering wheel. I remembered when we left to the bus, I looked at the watch. Before we went it was 8:13. Now it is 12:32. It was unbelievable. For the rest of the day at school we talked about our magic field trip. Finally the bell to go home rang. While I was going home I wondered if a day like this would ever happen again.
