COLOR ME CRAZY
by Ananya
Who doesn’t love color splashed all over themselves. Smiling and laughing with friends and family. Now I wouldn’t want to miss out on a holiday like that and neither do you. I was inspired to make a holiday which was like holi, an Indian holiday. You don’t even have to dress up, you can go to color me crazy with your pajamas on.
You take color powder in any color you choose and throw it at friends and family and bring water gun full of water or color and spray it at people. Same thing as holi, only I wanted to make more fun by adding in food fights. Instead of throwing just color or water, you could throw food as well. It just made holi ten times better and now more people would know about this holiday.
Color Me Crazy would start on March 17th and last for two days. This is when Holi occurs in 2014. Holi occurs on a day of the full moon in a certain month according to the Hindu calender.
You can celebrate Color Me Crazy anywhere; in your backyard, at your friends, or at the park.
Historians believe that holi was celebrated by married women to worship their family and the full moon. Holi has many names such as Phagwah is Assamese, Festival of Colors, Dol Jarta in Odisha, Basantotsav in Bengali and there is many more names.
So, meet you at the Color Me Crazy and bring lots of color, food and water.
